Hacoba, Hidalgo, Mexico

How has this helped you reconnect?
I am reconnecting with my family's land in Hidalgo, Mexico and with my great grandmother, Hacoba Guzman.

I didn't get to meet my great-grandmother, Hacoba Guzman, or spend much time on my family's ranch in Hidalgo, Mexico. These photos are some of the only pictures I have of her and her home. My grandmother raised my mom and she credits her for making her the woman she is today. In some way, my great-grandmother Hacoba has also made me the woman I am today too, even though we are miles and generations away. I can feel her love and presence in the recipes, traditions, and customs my family and I share here in California and that I'll share with my kids one day too.
