Connecting with old photos of my grandfather, a former political journalist and correspondent who spoke up against the dictatorship following the Korean War. My family has had a long, complicated, and interesting history being in the United States, and I remember seeing old photos from one of my grandfather's colleagues. I always think about what Asian Americana means, and this is one of the many photos that helps me connect with my direct ancestors as they've navigated life in this country on their own.
